Lake Hume

Lake Hume is an artificial lake situated a short distance east of Wodonga, formed by the construction of a weir on the Murray River. The water is primarily used for irrigation and there is a hydro-electric power station installed within the dam wall. The typically vast waters of the lake, most of which lie within the borders of Victoria, have become a popular venue for water activities including fishing, boating, windsurfing and water skiing. Stretches of sandy beach along the shoreline make it an ideal location for safe swimming. Apex Park, located on the lake's foreshore near the weir, has BBQ facilities, a boat ramp and offers scenic views of the lake.
